I was born in Spokane Washington. I attended St. Charles grade school and Mead Jr. High School in Spokane.

In 1963 we moved to Tacoma WA where I attended Stadium High School. I worked at Johnny's Dock Restaurant and Stuart Anderson's Black Angus. In 1966 I moved to Portland Oregon attending school and working at the Intercontinential Hotel.

In 1967 I enlisted in the US Air Force in Seattle WA. My first duty was Norton AFB, San Bernardino CA working in cryptography with a top secret security clearance, one of the few IBM computer operators at the time.

My second duty was Bien Hoa AB, Republic of Vietnam where I was temporary duty to the US Army (USARV & MACV) at Long Binh for 8 months to various Army units as a FAC-Forward Air Controller, then my last 4 months working at the air terminal at Bien Hoa.

My third tour (1969) was Vandenberg AFB CA where I was responsible for classified communications for the Commander for Pacific Missile Range and Western Launch and Test Range (WLTR).

My last active duty tour was Don Muang AB near Bangkok Thailand. I was honorably discharged Sergeant grade in January 1971. I received the following commendations: NDSM, RVCM, VSM w/2BSS, AFGCM.

In 1971 I moved to New York city and later Lakewood NJ where I became the sous chef at the Town and Country restaurant.

In 1972 I traveled for months with Dan Spittlehouse, a friend from the military. We travelled from New York to Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Thailand, and returned along a similar route. Upon returning to NJ I moved to Roselle Park and worked as a brakeman for the Central New Jersey Railroad.

Still interested in the Fourth Way philosophy I attended a group for a few months in NYC with Oscar Ichazo and later another group with the Schneider's who were associated with EJ Gold.

In 1974 I moved to Los Angeles to work with Mr. EJ Gold and the Institute for the Development of the Harmonious Human Being.

In 1977 I opened up a health food store while attending college. In 1978 I moved to Grass Valley CA, along with the Institute. When not working at the Institute I worked as a house painter.

In 1979 I was offered a sales job with Silver State Business Products and later Computer Business Applications, Incline Village NV, an OEM for Digital Equipment Corp. computer systems specializing in systems for US Govt agencies (Argonne, Sandia).

In 1982 I moved to Bodega Bay, CA where I spent my time studying and giving classes and seminars in Sonoma and Marin County. In 1993 I moved to Sonoma CA to set up an Internet development and marketing company which I sold in 1994. In 1995 I began working for Computer Currents magazine as online manager until 2000.

From 2000-2002 I took time off to travel and study finance. From 2003 to 2008 I worked for General Electric Finance in San Rafael, CA and later Genworth Financial as a financial advisor.

When I'm not dabbling in technology (websites, iPhone apps) I spend my time as an independent insurance agent and financial advisor focusing on retirement investing and long term care planning. My clients live in big cities and small towns all across the country.

I also give financial seminars for buinesses and groups: Rotary's, retiree associations like Sacramento County Retiree Assn, schools such as CalTech and UC for staff and faculty. You can contact me by email.

Trying to remember people's names here who I knew at different times is not easy. I can recall many more faces and events than names and I'm adding names as I remember them. Please email me if your name is not here.

"I'm the one that's got to die when it's time for me to die/so let me live my life the way I want to."   If 6 was 9 - jimi hendrix

I loved reading the Somerset Maugham and Herman Hesse stories. Thomas Mann and Schopenhauer were early influences on my world view.

In 1969 while staying with B.K. at his home on Sunset Beach (HI) , I read Kenneth Walker's "Venture with Ideas" that introduced me to the Fourth Way, based on the ideas and works of Armenian/Greek G.I. Gurdjieff, who was influenced by the Sufi's (Naqshband, Ni'matullh, etc) .

During the next few years I found and read few Fourth Way books along with other influences like Meher Baba, Ramana Maharshi, and Trungpa. In 1972 while living in New Jersey I discovered a "group" in New York City connected to a teacher of the Fourth Way. This was a group called Arica and was founded by Chilean Oscar Ichazo.

I attended Arica meetings and trainings for a while but left once I discovered another group in NYC run by Ed and Betty Ann Schneider that was based on the work of teacher and artist E.J. Gold.

I attended the meetings in New York for a while but when I heard there was a training event in Los Angeles with Mr. Gold I made plans to attend it (1974). I attended that training and decided to stay in Los Angeles where I could continue to work with the group and Mr. Gold.
